Chairman of the Health, Human Services and Human Rights Committee, Abe Uchitelle, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Social Services; and

 

WHEREAS, Sections A3-4 (Y) and A2-6(A)(3) of the Administrative Code provide that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature can, upon approval of the County Legislature, enter into an inter-municipal agreement on behalf of the County of Ulster; and

 

          WHEREAS, the Department of Social Services has received notification from the New York State Office of Victim Services (OVS) of an award of $525,649.98 of continued funding under the Victim Assistance Grant Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Ulster County Department of Social Services requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into an Agreement (NYS Contract # C00183GM), and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Office of Victim Services to receive funding in the amount of $525,650.00 for the contract period October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2028; and

 

          WHEREAS, in order to reflect the increased funding an amendment of the 2025 budgets is necessary; and

 

          WHEREAS, no additional County contribution or matching funding is required other than has been budgeted; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED,thattheChairofthe UlsterCounty Legislatureishereby authorizedtoexecute an agreement,andanyamendments thereto, with New York State Office of Victim Services, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature,or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney, and, be it further

 

          RESOLVED, that the 2025 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
